Perfect in every way. I had come from a couple of large 5-star hotels (I was in Tokyo for work and was hosted at other accommodation) before extending my stay and choosing the ryokan. I was a bit worried as there was only an 11m2 room available (busy weekend, Chinese New Year!) but I needn't have been. The space was great. There is everything you need. Breakfast was amazing! The sky bath was lovely and very much appreciated. The room was spotless, the WiFi excellent and the staff are the kindest ever. The location is also great. I would choose Asakusa over any other area in Tokyo. You are so close to Senso-Ji, a short walk from the subway and train station and it's a lively area with lots of great little restaurants to choose from on your doorstep and plenty of shopping. This is a real experience, due to how fantastic the staff are and their whole philosophy of hospitality. If you are doubtful about choosing a more 'Western' style hotel or the ryokan, choose this and you will be so glad that you did. I will not forget this stay in a hurry. Better than a 5 star welcome and such a personal experience! Thank you for everything. I cannot wait to come back.

Ryokan so some of the above questions are irrelevant. Size and comfort were great...for a Ryokan (not as opposed to a regular bed in a Western room). Terrific location, very quiet and relaxing, appropriately priced and very comfortable for sleeping on the floor! Reserved the private bath for each night which was wonderful. Food delicious and beautifully presented. Staff could not have been more helpful. Great interactions from initial reservation until arrival and throughout our stay. They did many things to make it as personalized a stay as possible. Very accomodating. For example, we came directly from the airport after a 13 hour flight. I had anticipated that we would not want to go for a formal 2 hour dinner. Instead they prepared a lovely meal for us and brought it to our room. It included a Happy Birthday - inscribed dessert for my husband. Very clean. Excellent bathroom and supplies. On a side street in a relatively lively area and quite peaceful. PS Make sure to walk over to the temple at night. Very close and even more beautiful at night than during the day.

From the moment I arrived, until departure, the staff at Cyashitsu Ryokan made me feel so welcome and were genuinely trying to ensure a perfect stay. Koji-san - always a smile, and so attentive; I am so sorry, I forget the young lady who checked me in (starts with an "A"), but she was wonderful as well; took time to get to know me as she checked me in; so friendly. The room, took my breath away - this was the last night of my stay and it was the perfect ending. After all the hustle and bustle, I was able to breathe and just enjoy the peacefulness, while in Tokyo! The onsen, was such a treat - you can see Tokyo Skytree off in the distance while relaxing in your private onsen. (Reserve for 45 minutes - included with stay). I think my breakfast might have been my best meal! It seemed like so much food, but I didn't feel full at all - it was well balanced, delicious, and beautiful. I would return in a heartbeat!

The atmosphere of the ryokan style room was so calm, serene and relaxing. Perfect for our honeymoon! The breakfast served every morning was EXCELLENT! A great taste of Japanese cuisine. The staff were super welcoming, attentive and friendly from the moment we approached to check in and until the time we checked out. They were always interested in our daily outings and even surprised us with a wedding treat! We absolutely loved the open air bath too. I expected it to be too cold to bathe outdoors, but it actually felt great! The area the ryokan is in is very quiet, and you can see the Tokyo Skytree from the bath. The Senso-Ji temple is just a couple of blocks away which is a beautiful area full of shops.

Very relaxing atmosphere, the room is small, dimly lit, tastefully decorated and cozy as part of their concept (though people who don’t like small places shouldn’t come here) The staff are very friendly, I got a welcome snack as soon as I walked in through the front door and was given a optional talk about their ryokan. I was then escorted to my room. Everyone was very friendly throughout the whole thing. If you booked a stay here I also recommend going to their other restaurant Cyashitsu Nigou at least once during your stay for dinner. The food provided by this place is very delicious. The onsen is a private one so you’d have to book it, but it is small and cute, very beautiful!
